Ten seconds \u2013 Hands off keys; stand up; take deep breath; yell at piano, composer or self; laugh; sit; play. <\/p>\n
Thirty seconds or as needed \u2013 Dance around room, singing problematic passage. Don\u2019t trip!<\/p>\n
Two hours \u2013 Minimum break after four hours\u2019 practice. (Ninety minute min. after three hours.) <\/p>\n
Thirty-six continuous hours \u2013 Weekly break; say from a suppertime to second morning after. Don\u2019t touch piano!<\/p>\n
Three continuous weeks \u2013 Annual break. Takes perhaps two weeks to come back from it; and when you do, you\u2019re playing better. <\/p>\n
